Citizens Hanover Insurance
The Hanover Insurance Group, Inc was founded in 1852 and currently is still running its original business as a property-liability insurance firm. It is based in Worcester, Massachusetts, and the company has more than 40 regional offices spread across the United States.
The firm remains a publicly-traded company although it did change its name twice; in the 1990s, the company changed its name to Allmerica Property & Casualty Companies, but it reverted to The Hanover Insurance Group in December 2005.
Since then, it has become a parent company of two divisions including Citizens Insurance and Hanover Insurance. Please put in mind, that Hanover Insurance Group’s Citizens Insurance is an entirely different organization from government-owned corporations with the same name based in Florida and Louisiana.
Although there are two divisions, both of them provide the same insurance services including for auto, business, and home.
Auto and Home are categorized under Personal Insurance, and the Business category mainly focuses on small and middle market products.

Hanover Insurance Claim
Claim service is available via online, phone, and email. Both personal and commercial insurance categories have the same procedures when filing claims. Once the application has been correctly reported, and an adjuster will review the circumstances and analyze everything related to the coverage policy.
Everything is general as expected, yet Citizens Hanover Insurance Company has an anti-fraud program to determine whether any particular claim is indeed based on what has been reported.
Hanover Insurance Group, just like any other insurers, will want to avoid paying claims that are not necessary. However, this program also helps honest policyholders to resolve all disputes that possibly lead to an improper settlement. The program is simple, yet it has an explicit purpose of combating all types of insurance frauds both for policyholder and shareholder.
Hanover Insurance Group has established an SIU (Special Investigation Unit) to implement all anti-fraud attempts in all lines of business. It is possible that all Hanover citizens insurance claims are run through and checked by this unit before any settlement is finalized.
SIU provides support in forms of investigative services and assistance in making resolution of suspicious claims. This unit is based on Home Office of The Hanover Insurance Group in Worcester. Field group will report to the home office and is responsible for the regional investigation.
